MCS 1st Cricket Season

Great season from the boys, only going down in the last over at St Gregory’s, Campbelltown in the MCS Grand Final. A constant season finishing 2nd on the table and meeting Marist Eastwood in the Semi Final. We bowled first and kept them to 7/76, with great bowling, backed up with outstanding fielding. We won comfortably in the end with 5/80. Trent Weir and Lovish Sethi lead the team to the win, with both posting mid 20’s scores.

We meet St Gregory’s, Campbelltown in the Grand Final, again, and won the toss and went into bat first. We were playing on a turf wicket which was a little wet after several days of rain. Ryan Gibson, Lovish Sethi and Nicholas Thornton lead us with the bat on a difficult wicket, ending up with 5/88. St Greg’s went into bat and after some tight and consistent bowling were 1/32 after 10 overs, giving us the opportunity to win. Some great fielding and a couple of run outs, St Greg’s needed 20 runs off 4 overs to win. Unfortunately, with seven balls left in the innings, St Greg’s edge a shot over the keeper’s head for four.

Congratulations on a wonderful season.
