Music is an integral part of the life and culture of St Dominic’s College. With mandatory courses in Stage 4, Elective courses in Stage 5 and both Music 1, Music 2 and Music Extension courses in Stage 6, there is a vibrant and creative approach to Music education. In Stage 4, students learn music through the instrumental disciplines of Hand Percussion, Keyboard, and Guitar. Students in Stage 5 work with an instrument of their choosing. All stages culminate in a performance, either at the end of each semester or at our Creative and Performing Arts Showcase.

A variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities are provided for students including College Band, College Choir, Guitar Ensembles, Drum Corps and Sound Crew. Private instrumental tuition is also provided on selected instruments during the school day.

Music is an integral part of the cultural and liturgical life of St Dominic’s College; with a number of Music presentations throughout the year, both within the College and in the wider community, as well as involvement in all College liturgies and events.
