Remote Access
APPLE MACINTOSH USERS
Unfortunately Remote Access does NOT OPERATE under the Apple platform. If you have an Apple Macintosh computer, then you will NOT be able to log in remotely to the Collge Computer Network.

PC USERS
You may log on to the College network from home to use our computer software, or work on documents in your user space. However, you can only save back to your user space.

You won't be able to:
  • Print from your home printer,
  • Save from your user space to your home computer or
  • Download work from your user space to your home computer.
Instructions:
  • Click on the Remote Access link.
  • DO NOT type in any details in the Server windows.
  • Click on the Connect button.
  • If the Connect button is NOT ACTIVE, you will need to download either ActiveX or DirectX software (depending on which version of Windows XP that you have. You may be prompted automatically to do this, or you may have to search using Google. You will need to RESTART your computer after you have installed this software.
  • The normal login screen will then appear and you may log in using your school ID number and password.
  • Please remember to LOG OFF after you have finished or you may have problems when trying to log on the next day.
For an illustrated presentation of these instructions, please click on the Remote Access Help link below (WINDOWS VISTA USERS). It has illustrations for Windows XP users.

WINDOWS VISTA USERS
If you are using Windows Vista, then you will need to make some minor adjustments to your settings in Internet Explorer. The following document contains the necessary details with coloured images, which will enable you to use Remote Access. It also has illustrations for Windows XP users.

It is a pdf file and needs Acrobat Reader to open. If the document won't open, click here to Get Acrobat Reader
