What is Savio Education Centre?
Savio Education Centre is a coeducational, non-denominational annexe that forms part of St Dominic's College, Kingswood. It is located in Evan St,
Penrith. It is a place of alternative education for Stage 3 and Stage 4 students who have a high rate of truancy and face challenges in mainstream
education systems. Savio will cater for up to 15 'at risk' students by helping them with their transition into mainstream education.
The aim of Savio is to develop with students the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to enable them to re-integrate into mainstream schooling
and assist with their transition to High School. Individual Education Programs are established to address the individual needs of each student with
families encouraged to be a part of this process. The staff comprises a co-ordinator, two fully qualified teachers and two teacher's aides. The aim is
to have a high teacher-student ratio in order for students to receive the necessary support they require.
Enrolment.
Students may be referred for enrolment from their current school or by their family or carer. The Savio Co-ordinator and a delegated St Dominic's staff
member determine which applicants are to be offered a place at The Centre.

Enrolment forms are available on request from Savio Education Centre. As
part of the enrolment procedure, students and their parents or carers will undergo an interview process with the Savio Co-ordinator. The Co-ordinator will also require support from the students' 'home' school in order to proceed with enrolment. It is a requirement of Savio that all relevant
documentation in regard to the student (for example assessment reports etc) be provided. School Fees are expected at Savio Education Centre.
Difficulties with payment can be negotiated.
