Major Award WINNER for Artexpress AGNSW

Year 12, 2017 student Blake Raymond‘s HSC Art body of work was awarded the S&S Creativity Award for ARTEXPRESS 2018 at the Art Gallery of NSW. Visual Arts teacher, Mr. Lewis was also presented with an award in recognition of this outstanding achievement at a special Awards ceremony on Wednesday. Blake’s ambitious lino printing of the Blue Mountains, entitled Flight_24/7 has been selected for three exhibitions across NSW. It is currently on display at the Art Gallery of NSW until the 25th April.

This year, two St. Dominic’s College students were selected for this prestigious exhibition. Jarrod Dargon was also selected for his work Deconstructing Domestic. Jarrod explored abstraction and deconstruction using found objects. His work will be exhibited at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery & Arts Centre later this month and then travel Orange Regional Art Gallery.
