24-7 Reporting and Semester 1 Summary

Just another reminder that you have access to all of your son’s tasks, results, feedback and performance at the click of a button (or touch of a screen) via Canvas. See our 1 minute demonstration video. Your copy of the Semester 1 summary report is emailed to you (pdf) early in July. Parent, Teacher and Student conferences are not scheduled for much later in the term so please do not hesitate in contacting your son’s teachers if there is ever an issue to discuss, Canvas provides this facility too.

Canvas Parent and Student Workshops
Term 3: 30th July 2019

Again we will be providing Canvas workshops to assist you in supporting your son’s learning in our blended learning environment. You are enrolled in all his courses so we are here to assist.

Again we will be providing both experienced and beginner workshops to meet your needs. This year we have incorporated in with our HSC Showcase so you can access our senior works as well. Please book to avoid disappointment (your son and his laptop are also required to attend).        

  • Beginners Agenda: Navigating Canvas and managing communications to you and your son.

  • Experienced Agenda: Learning issues, technical issues and making the most of all the facilities we provide (Microsoft, Printing/Copying, WiFi, Adobe, Clickview)

Year 12 HSC Seminar and Support mentoring Program

As part of HSC preparations for Year 12 students the College will be conducting a HSC Seminar and Support Mentoring Program during organised sport time from Week 9 in Term 2 until Week 9 of Term 3. This Seminar and Support Mentoring Program will be compulsory for all Year 12 students to attend each week. The Seminar sessions will provide students with additional revision material in each of their courses from the teaching staff outside their normal classroom lessons to further assist them in their preparations for the Trial HSC and/or the HSC exams later in the year. Year 11, 2020 Subject Selection Evening
23rd July 5-8pm

As part of ensuring that your son is well informed and prepared for Year 11 in 2020 at St Dominic’s College, two compulsory events will be held for all Year 10 students and parents at the College on this evening. Students will be required to attend both these events in full winter College uniform. An outline of these events can be found below:

HSC Major Works Evening: July 30th

This evening will be held in the Treacy Centre from 6pm to showcase the Major Projects of the Year HSC class of 2019 for the following subjects:

Design and Technology
English Extension 2
History Extension
Industrial Technology Metal
Industrial Technology Timber
Music
Visual Arts

Students and Parents are invited to attend this event to support the works of all our Year 12 major Project students. An invitation to this event is featured below:
