Congratulations to our Public Speakers

Two St Dominic’s students, Jose Corcio of Year 8 and Marley Satchell of Year 9, participated in the Legacy Public Speaking Competition on the 31st of July at Blacktown Girls High.

The local final involved fourteen students from both public and private schools in the area and all students had to present a five minute prepared speech and two minute impromptu speech.

Jose chose to speak about transgender athletes and Marley about the dangers of artificial intelligence. Both speeches were extremely well presented, researched and prepared, with parents and judges congratulating them on their excellent representation of the college through their polished presentations and sportsmanship.

The judge admitted the difficulty in selecting only three of the fourteen, and unfortunately they did not make the next round. The boys have had a great experience and returned with some great feedback for next year’s competition.
