BE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT WE HAVE
As an important religious observance in the Christian world, Lent is the season to observe and commemorate the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our College community have gathered over the past two days in preparation for the 40 day Lenten period leading into Easter.
Shrove Tuesday, which took place on 25 February, is the day before Ash Wednesday and the commencement of Lent, which is traditionally marked by feasting and celebration. The College commemorated with the sale of Pancakes, freshly prepared by our Prefects. Proceeds from the sale of our pancakes will be donated to Caritas, which we will be supporting throughout the Lenten Period.
Ash Wednesday marks the first day or the start of the season of Lent. Lent is a time when we prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, and spiritual discipline.
