In celebration of National Literacy and Numeracy Week, the College has been buzzing with energy and enthusiasm for learning.
Today, a select group of Year 7 students entered the St Dom’s Monster Spelling Bee, with the entire Cohort eagerly engaged and supportive of their peers.
Round after elimination round, our Year 7’s battled with Davor Franich, from homeroom Tench B, crowned the St Dominic’s College Spelling Bee Champion for 2020. The runner up was Sarthak Pabbi from Surawski A. Congratulations also to the other finalists Miguel Pascual, Tanner Penehoe, Andrea Siracusa, Riley Proud, Jack Planer and Lachlan Robinson.
Year 9 were action bound, whilst enjoying the sunshine during our Literacy and Numeracy Amazing Race.
The College precinct became the base for the race, challenging students to tackle the mental obstacle course by answering a series of questions.
The proud team winners of the Amazing Race were Christian Finianos, Charlie Klemesrud, William Pearson and Beau Pronesti from homeroom Rice B. Runners up were Harrison Ashmore, Oliver Hunt and Harrison Dengate from Rice A, and Lucas Bonnici and Braxton Elcheikh from Rice B.
