The annual St Dominic’s College Mother’s Day Mass was hosted this year by the Rice House. 500 students, mothers, nans, grandparents and other special guests attended the mass in the Br Warner Hall, where they were greeted by the magnificent band and choir. There were a number of students involved in differing activities throughout the mass such as the Acknowledgement of Country, Welcoming, First Reading, Gospel Procession, Offertory Procession and the Prayers of the Faithful.

As always, Father Gregory Jacobs SJ did a great job in his celebration of the mass to the St Dominic’s community, even reflecting on his own relationship with his mother. The special guests were also gifted with a flower from their sons and grandsons as a sign of gratitude for attending this magnificent event.

Rice House were very proud to host this mass in 2021 as it was on the actual Feast Day of Blessed Edmund Rice, who not only started the Christian Brothers who founded our College, but also is the patron of Rice House.

After the mass concluded, staff members and College prefects provided  a morning tea, which capped off what was a great morning for all mums, nans and grandparents.
