Welcome back to our staff, students and families to a what will be a positive and enriching 2025 academic school year. In particular, a warm and sincere St Dominic’s College welcome to our new students and their families. May your time here at St Dominic’s College be filled with belonging, compassion, discovery and opportunity.

Annually, the College Theme is updated to align with one of the four EREA Touchstones, drawing inspiration from the Scriptures. For 2025, the St Dominic’s College Theme is rooted in the Justice and Solidarity Touchstone.

The Justice and Solidarity Touchstone underscores the essence of St Dominic’s College as a Catholic community, highlighting the importance of respect and valuing others in all relationships.
The 2025 Theme also reflects the significance of collaboration, emphasising the power of unity in achieving shared success. Moreover, the principles of Justice and Solidarity inspire us to embrace a life of abundance, grounded in faith and purpose. These values are a true embodiment of the College’s core ethos.

The 2025 College Theme is: ‘Respect, Collaborate, Thrive.’

The dove, a universal symbol of peace and hope, forms the heart of the Justice and Solidarity logo, representing the shared commitment to fostering harmony and unity. The dove becomes a vital element, embodying the spirit of respect, collaboration, and collective growth. Its inclusion in the logo design underscores our dedication to creating a community where justice and solidarity guide our actions and aspirations.

St Dominic’s College remains a welcoming and inclusive community, fostering nurturing relationships and a steadfast commitment to the wellbeing and holistic development of our students and the broader College family. Looking to the year ahead, we encourage students to meet the high expectations of St Dominic’s and strive for personal excellence each day.

Your sons’ commitment to a positive learning culture is reflected in their ‘Diligence and Sustained Effort’ (DSE) score, which is presented at the end of each term. A requirement for students to have a DSE score of 75% or above and meet the general expectations of the College will be strictly enforced for students who wish to represent the College in sport and community events.

Three weeks in and the year has already been very busy. I thank all our Year 7 and Year 10 families who attended their respective information evenings. Your support is much appreciated. I congratulate our Year 7 students for the way that they engaged in the activities at camp. Yes, there was fear and fatigue, but the boys rose above this and have already begun to forge new friendships. Well done gentlemen.

Obviously, the plethora of opportunities that the students of St Dominic’s have before them are a direct result of the dedication and willingness of the staff to provide opportunities for these types of events to occur. A huge thankyou to you all for your ongoing commitment.

I look forward to sharing the journey that awaits us during our academic year with you all and wish our community a fulfilling and successful 2025.

God Bless

Mr Adam Rafferty

Acting College Principal
