The NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition, but to challenge each student to read, to read more and to read more widely. The Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) is open to all NSW students in Kindergarten to Year 10.

To complete the challenge, students need to read 20 books by 18 September 2026. At least 10 books must be on the prescribed book list.

We encourage you all to participate in this wonderful event.

Common PRC questions

How is my Reading Record validated?

Your PRC Coordinator confirms that you have read the books listed. If the Coordinator hasn’t witnessed your reading, a signature from your parent (or guardian) or Class teacher may be required. 

My passwords aren’t working.

Close your browser and re-type your details carefully. If you have tried several times without success, please contact Mrs Liepa in the ERLC.
