A Brilliant Effort from our
Year 7/8 State Cup Touch Football Team
On Friday, 23 November the Year 7/8 Touch Football team represented the College at the All Schools State tournament at St Marys. The tournament would be a good test for us against the best sides in NSW.
Our pool was quite strong, and we began with a 1 try win against Engadine. We followed this with a 2-0 win against Port Macquarie and a tight 3-2 loss to Hunter Sports High. We went into our last pool game needing a win to qualify for the quarter finals and played well to take a 7-0 victory.
This put us up against Narrabeen Sports High who finished unbeaten in their pool. In a very tight, defensive contest we ended on the losing side of a 2-1 score line, thus ending our day. Narrabeen ended up going on to finish that day as unbeaten Premiers putting merit into our performance to get some close.
I thank all the boys who were involved on the day, their families who came along for support and Mr Mackinnon for his assistance with the organisation before and on the day.
