Walk the Talk is an education initiative launched by the  Women’s Community Shelters.

Held in our new Lecture Theatre, Year 10 recently participated in a half-day workshop delivered by Enlighten Education and the Goodfellas team.

A pioneering program building awareness around domestic violence and women’s homelessness, Walk the Talk empowers young people to support local women and children in need by ‘adopting’ their local shelter.

The boys were presented with valuable information and stories relating to topics such as masculinity, body image, emotions, features of positive healthy relationships, domestic violence and gender stereotypes from well known presenter Jack Ellis.

Year 10 were challenged to discuss common myths about these topics and establish effective strategies to make positive contributions to the wider community.

As a College, we look forward to continuing to forge an empowering relationship with the local women’s shelter, The Haven.

Thank you to Enlighten Education for their time, commitment and education around these issues.
