Swimming Carnival

The St Dominic’s College Swimming Carnival was held on the 27th February. Congratulations to all students that attended, it was great to see the passion and effort from all boys involved. A power outage at Ripples, St Mary’s meant that we had to vacate the pool earlier than anticipated; however, staff and students responded and moved through the program swiftly meaning that all competitive heats were undertaken. Unfortunately our house relay and senior house race had to be abandoned.

Congratulations to Nathan Zammit and the Tench House who were crowned Swimming Carnival Champions for 2018.

MCS Grand Finals

I would like to congratulate all the MCS summer teams for their achievements throughout the season. Your commitment to training and the games is very much appreciated.

Congratulations to our Grand Final winning teams:

Basketball: Year 8 (Jeff Kilbourne & Bronwyn Birkett), Year 9 (Ben Godsell & Erin Lans), B Grade (Rebecca Reid & Ben Cummins) and A Grade (Leon Hine & Rachael Atkinson)
Cricket: Year 10 (Andrew Williams & Damien Lawson)

Commiserations to Year 10 Basketball (James Bourke & Christine

McCormick); 2^nd XI Cricket (Adrian Chapman & John Gately) and 1^st XI Cricket (Brent Rawding & Brendan Jansz)

The 1^st and 2^nd XI Cricket teams gave the finals their all on the day, with both exciting games coming down to the last over. The games were played in a great spirit by the St Dominic’s

players and they should be congratulated for their sportsmanship.

Our U/14 Rugby 7’s did exceptionally well reaching the Grand Final. Well done to the team.
