As Term 2 continues, so do some of our exceptional results from individual students and college sporting teams. As we meet the half way mark of the term, the College has participated in Giants Cup Senior and Junior competitions; NRL Schoolboy Cup Rugby League; MCS Cross Country; MCS Chess; 9/10 NSW All Schools Touch Football; all in addition to our regular MCS Rugby League and Soccer seasons. We are truly blessed at the College to have so many dedicated staff and students who continue to support the extra-curricular activities. It was particularly pleasing to see the dedication of staff and students who travelled to Holy Cross College, Ryde for the Round 1 NRL Schoolboy Cup fixture to support our 1st Grade Rugby League team. I would also like to express many thanks to Mr Tim White and the Holy Cross community for the organisation and atmosphere created on the evening.
Well done to each member of our College Cross Country team who gave their best at the Sydney Regatta Centre recently and contributed to the Colleges overall 3rd place on the day. Furthermore, congratulations to Mr Bourke, Mrs Hands and our College U/15’s AFL team who were recently crowned Regional Champions in the Giants Cup AFL competition. The College was also runners-up recently in the 9/10 NSW All Schools Touch Football Regional Championships and have received a wild card into the state tournament.

We still have a few significant events arising in the coming weeks. A reminder to check the St Dominic’s College Calendar, MCS Calendar and NSWCCC Calendar for the latest fixtures and trial dates.
Students are also reminded to keep an eye out on the Canvas Sports page for Term 3 MCS trials. These trials are scheduled to commence in the coming weeks. Term 3 sports will include MCS Touch Football and MCS AFL. During Term 3 there will also be opportunities for students to be selected in the College Golf and Athletics squads.
It would be remiss not to acknowledge the sporting achievements of the alumni of St Dominic’s College. Congratulations to Brad Fittler and Greg Alexander on their coaching appointments; and Nathan Cleary on his selection at halfback in the NSW Blues State of Origin team. We look forward to watching the Blues dominate the Maroons in the coming weeks.
