Project Warmth – Penrith Community Kitchen

We are looking to reconnect with Penrith Community Kitchen and support the excellent work that they do in feeding the homeless and disadvantaged.  It is often difficult for Year 7 and Year 8 students to easily meet their Social Justice Hours- so this is an outstanding opportunity!

Project Warmth is a fundraising effort where people sponsor you to sleep outside on the Friday the 29th or Saturday the 30th of June. This event is convenient and designed to fit your busy lifestyle. Students do this activity at home, or at a friend’s place, with your permission and supervision. They sleep outside, either out in the open or under cover. They need to get sponsors and that money will be used to raise the vital funds needed to pay for meals for the homeless.

Founders’ Week

We celebrated the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and St Dominic Savio throughout Founders’ Week. We had Social Justice Presentations from St Vincent de Paul and Eddy Rice Camps on Tuesday, Mother’s Day Mass on Wednesday and Founders’ Mass and activities on Friday. Throughout the week we had Handball, Chess, Prayers, Rosary and Homeroom Presentations about our Founders culminating in a Trivia Quiz. There were so many people involved and I would like to thank them all for their generosity and leadership.
