March 28 saw our students from Year 9 iSTEM, Year 9 Visual Arts and Year 11 Visual Arts work with Microsoft Education in developing their skills in new Microsoft APPs. Using Paint 3D, 3D Viewer, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams the students designed and developed 3D models and finally animated them.
The students at the College continue to work with current and cutting edge technology in developing skills in the STEAM industry. Microsoft have developed a number of 3D Modelling and Virtual Reality tools which our students access as part of their Micros Licence. The students were given a brief introduction into the world of Virtual Reality tools via this presentation.
This partnership with Microsoft is yet another example of our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) Program at St Dominic’s College. A number of our staff worked alongside our students during this workshop from these faculties:
- Art: Mr Lewis, Mrs Knowles, Mrs Kennett
- TAS: Mr Zammit
- Mathematics: Mr Gerlach
The students have the opportunity to submit their final submissions to Microsoft with prizes to be won!
