On Wednesday, 31st March Year 12 Italian Beginners and Continuer students partook in a culinary experience.

With the support of the TAS Faculty, our students created a three-course meal from various parts of Italy including Piedmonte, Lombardia and Lazio. Students cooked a trio of bruschetta, spinach and ricotta ravioli with Napolitana sauce and a white chocolate panna cotta with a raspberry coulis.

The incursion aimed to bring together different subjects which work together, highlighting the importance of making connections in an aspect of culture. Students engaged with developing their cooking skills while using the Italian language throughout the day. Students had the opportunity to also demonstrate their knowledge about Italian food through ingredients, Italian trade, superstitions, and dishes.

Students ended the day having lunch together as a class, enjoying each other’s company.

A massive thank you to Ms Monteleone and Mrs Baluch who supported and ran this integrated incursion between Food Technology, Hospitality and Italian. We look forward to running this culinary journey again in the future.
