Dear Parents and Friends,

At St Dom’s we are committed to providing the very best opportunities for our students. To that extent, we were thrilled recently to launch our new partnership with one of the world’s largest football clubs by becoming the first of two Manchester City Football Schools in New South Wales, alongside Waverley College.

The Manchester City Football School will leverage an established and globally acclaimed sporting curriculum, providing the College with unsurpassed access to exceptional resources, opportunities and coaching. In the coming weeks, we will be hiring a resident Head Coach who will have vast experience of coaching youth teams within the Manchester City group of Football clubs and they will relocate to Australia to lead the program at St Dominic’s. The Head Coach will mentor and guide a select group of our staff through an accredited Manchester City Coaching credential ensuring the program has far reaching impacts throughout the entire College.

The partnership with Manchester City was chosen because of its close alignment with the core philosophies and values at St Dominic’s. The partnership will provide unparalleled opportunities for not only our students, but also for our wider community, including a dedicated program tailored for girls, to operate outside of school hours mid-2024.

I recognise that St Dominic’s has a long and proud rugby league tradition and want to reassure those families who are seeking opportunities in League that we are certainly not moving away from this. In fact, we are working closely with the Penrith Panthers and continuing to develop the partnership with them to ensure we provide greater opportunities in this arena of sport. Matt Cameron (Penrith Panthers CEO) and Mav Geyer (current Panthers player and Alumni) were present at our official Manchester City launch to show support for the program.

St Dominic’s is also seeking partnerships with universities & tertiary institutions to provide greater opportunities for students seeking academic pathways. To this end, we are currently seeking a ‘Partnerships Officer’ who will have responsibility in building these partnerships and connections. They will also have responsibility to connect with our ‘old boys’ as we wish to establish a formal Alumni program at the College which aims to keep Alumni students connected, as they may in turn be a source of inspiration and opportunity for our current students. This position will be advertised in Seek.com in the second week of October.

St Dominic’s is a very exciting place and I am proud to be leading such a dynamic team that constantly is looking to improve and provide your son’s with a liberating education.

May God continue to bless you.
