Year 7 Rocket Scientists
Two year 7 Technology classes have been working hard to design a water powered rocket this term. The students are working in teams and using STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) principles to learn about aerodynamics, Newton’s laws and good design principles to build a water rocket that travels as far as possible.
The students have been testing a number of principles and variables – the number of fins on the rocket, the design of the fins on the rocket and the amount of fuel (water) in the rocket, to try to determine what is going to make their rocket travel the furthest. Our final rocket designs will be ready for testing early next term. Good luck to all our rocket scientists in Year 7TASA and 7TASE.
