Throughout Term 1 there have been a variety of opportunities for our Indigenous students and the College community to connect and develop their cultural understanding. There are a diverse range of activities planned which have been designed to promote Indigenous education and advance inclusivity. I encourage our students to embrace the opportunities provided and look forward to updating the College community on these occasions throughout the remainder of 2019.

AIME MENTORING
A reminder that AIME mentoring continues for Indigenous students in Years 7-12 each Wednesday from 3-4pm in the A206. This is great opportunity for students to receive extra assistance with homework, assessment tasks and revision. Students are encouraged to make the most of the initiative and attend.
Harmony Day – Indigenous Games
Thank you to Mr Churchill, Tre Doyle (AIME) and our Indigenous students Lachlan Blackburn and Campbell Fisher who assisted in the Harmony Day Indigenous Games session. It was great to see so many students involved in a variety of activities; embracing Indigenous culture; and learning some of the history associated with the games that were being played.
Muru Mittigar – Japanese Visit
Thank you to Josh from Muru Mittigar for assisting with our Japanese visit. Students were given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with traditional Indigenous art and the different origins and symbolisms. Students were given the opportunity to express and personalise their own stories through the art during the morning session.
