In the Running a Business unit of Year 10 Commerce, students have applied their classroom knowledge and skills in real-world workplace scenarios by organising a Market Day specifically designed to raise revenue from their personalise business concepts.
Year 10 Commerce students were given the task of working in groups of four or five to come up with their own business ideas that would appeal to our College Community. They had to create a business plan, conduct market research, negotiate with suppliers, and effectively use the marketing mix to target their desired market and ensure a profitable venture.
The Market Day featured a range of stalls offering items such as stickers, key rings, cookies, drink stalls and a spin the wheel concept.
The Market Day was a huge success, with students gaining hands on experience on the set up and operation of their own mini business.
