Year 8 were recently engaged in activities aligned with the Earth Hour 2023 theme: “Take the Time out for Nature”.
St Dominic’s College welcomed a guest speaker from WIRES, who spoke to our Year 8 Cohort about local native animals, the threats placed on them and how we can help.
Our guest speaker also shared her experiences with rescuing natives from the Blue Mountains Region. There was an opportunity for students to ask questions about our local wildlife and from this, many of our students were eager to learn more about Australian fauna and how to help them.
As a collective Cohort, students donated much needed supplies to the Wildlife Information and Rescue Service (WIRES) for injured and sick wildlife within our local area and the Blue Mountains region.
