Today, Surawski House hosted our annual Beyond Blue Day.

Beyond Blue aims to equip everyone in Australia with the knowledge and skills they need to protect their own mental health. With continued support and awareness, Beyond Blue are able to keep working to change the way people think about and take action on mental health.

Beyond Blue Day commenced with a delicious fundraising BBQ Breakfast of Blue Pancakes as well as Bacon and Egg Muffins. During recess, students put our staff to the test in an epic battle of Kick Tennis.

The pinnacle of the day, one which could not come sooner for our students at lunchtime, was the long anticipated Great Surawski Sponge Throw. A number of very brave staff members placed themselves in the firing line of our very enthusiastic students – all in the name of fun and an incredibly worthwhile cause.

St Dominic’s raised over $1000 – an impressive amount which will go directly to Beyond Blue!

St Dominic’s College would like to thank our wonderful staff and students for supporting Beyond Blue Day. In particular, Mr Kennedy-Gould, Surawski House Coordinator who organised today’s activities by going above and beyond in championing awareness around issues relating to mental health and highlighting the importance of belonging to a strong inclusive community.
