2023 NAPLAN Results 

The College is still awaiting our 2023 NAPLAN results for Year 7 and 9. Once we receive these results, this will be communicated with parents, and staff will use this data to better target the learning needs of the students in their classes. From 2023 onwards ACARA has changed the way they report on the achievement of students. The 10 Band continuum previously reported on has been replaced by 4 bands that are specific to the Year level they are currently in. The four bands are: 

• Exceeding 
• Strong 
• Developing 
• Needs additional support.

ACARA has made these changes to better assist parents in understanding the progress of their child, in relation to the expected achievement level for the year group they are in. If you would like to know more about the changes, further information from ACARA can be found here. 

Semester 1 Reports 

Semester 1 reports were sent out to Parents in Week 10 of Term 2. This is a great opportunity for you to see a snapshot of the academic progress your son is making in his classes. The report will contain achievement grades, his DSE score for Term 2 and an assessment of his achievement according to the learning descriptors of the course he is studying. If you have any questions or concerns about the content of your son’s report, please initially make contact with his classroom teacher for that subject. Your son’s teacher will be best placed to explain any of the information provided for that subject. 

HSC Trial Exams 

Please be reminded that Year 12 will commence their Trial exams in Week 2 of Term 3. It is essential that Year 12 spend a reasonable portion of their holidays preparing for these important exams. Having some family and rest time should also be priority. We wish Year 12 the best of luck as they embark on their final school based assessment on their journey to the HSC examinations.
